Live music, grand openings, outdoor theater and more in Phinney Ridge and Greenwood this weekend

Here are a few highlights of events happening in our neighborhood this weekend. Check out our Events calendar any time for more.
The Phinney Farmers Market is from 3-7 p.m. Friday in the upper parking lot of the Phinney Neighborhood Center, 6532 Phinney Ave. N. Fresh fruit, veggies, bread, meat, eggs, flowers and lots more. And the PNA will be handing out free ice cream and balloons to celebrate the next phase of its Capital Campaign – the installation of an elevator in the blue building, beginning next week.
Taproot Theatre continues its newest play, the British-cowboy mash-up “ Chaps!” through Aug. 11.
Seattle Parks and Recreation is holding another life jacket sale at Evans Pool at Green Lake from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Life jackets in sizes infant to youth large are $20; teens and adult sizes (up to XXL) are $30.
Furnishments celebrates its grand opening at 7218 Greenwood Ave. N. with live music and food, beginning at 12 p.m. Saturday.
Outdoor theater company GreenStage will be at Lower Woodland Park all weekend, with free shows of “Henry VIII” at 7 p.m. Friday, 3 p.m. Saturday, and 7 p.m. Sunday; and “Taming of the Shrew” at 7 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday.
Couth Buzzard Books Espresso Buono Café, 8310 Greenwood Ave. N., presents “Vinyl Brew” from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Friday. Bring your favorite albums and host Scott Farley of KBCS FM will come up with the evening’s eclectic soundtrack. Free; food and drink available for purchase. Scott Katz & Friends perform there at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Metropolis, 7321 Greenwood Ave. N., celebrates Christmas in July with a sidewalk sale featuring 60 percent off holiday items and other select merchandise, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Tim’s Tavern, 602 N. 105th St., has an open mic and jam session starting at 8 p.m. Sunday.
Party in Greenwood Park from 3-6 p.m. Sunday to celebrate the new multi-sport court. Mayor Mike McGinn and King County Councilmember Larry Phillips will cut the ribbon and shoot the first baskets to open the court at 4:30 p.m. There’ll be live music, food, demonstrations, and games.
