Live music, New Year’s celebrations in Phinney-Greenwood this weekend

Live music, theater and New Year’s Eve celebrations are on tap in the neighborhood this weekend. You can check out our Events calendar any time, and even submit your own events.
Here are a few highlights:
3 Play Ricochet plays bluegrass, old-time and string-band Americana starting at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Couth Buzzard Books Espresso Buono Cafe, 8310 Greenwood Ave. N. Free. Food, beer and wine available. On Saturday, the bookstore and cafe invites everyone to its informal two-year anniversary, “A Very Couth New Year’s Eve Gathering,” from 7-9 p.m. Free hors d’oeuvres and finger picking guitar work by Greg Crosswire.
“Beasley’s Christmas Party” wraps up its month-long run at Taproot Theatre, 204 N. 85th St., at 8 p.m. Friday.
The Shop Agora, 6417-A Phinney Ave. N., is having a wine tasting from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, and a last-day-of-the-year sale. Sample Argentinian and Chilean Cabernet Sauvignons, bubbles, and goat’s milk yogurt. Single bottles of wine will be on sale, and they’ll offer deals on multiple-bottle purchases.
Tim’s Tavern, 602 N. 105th St., is throwing a New Year’s Eve party starting at 8 p.m. Saturday. Happy Hour pricing all day, and a free champagne toast at midnight.
Urban Light Studios, inside the Greenwood Collective at 8537 Greenwood Ave. N., is throwing a “Party for Literacy” starting at 9 p.m. Saturday. Ticket proceeds will be donated to Homework Help, an after-school tutoring program at the Seattle Public Library. Tickets start at $50.
