Greenwood Garage Sale Day coming up May 21

by | May 13, 2011

Clean out your closets and get ready to find treasure from someone else’s at Greenwood Garage Sale Day on Saturday, May 21.
Thousands of people flock to the neighborhood to check out the approximately 100 garage sales that happen that day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

One of last year’s many neighborhood garage sales.
Sponsored by the Phinney Neighborhood Association, there’s still time to register your own sale. Registration deadline is this Saturday (tomorrow) if you do it in person, or Sunday for online. Cost is $15 for PNA members, $20 for non-members, and $20 for non-profit rummage sale.
New this year, you can send the PNA your pictures for your online garage sale listing.
In addition to garage sales all over Greenwood-Phinney, there’s a flea market in the PNA’s lower parking lot, and a tool sale at the PNA’s Tool Library. Donations of vintage, collectibles and household items to the flea market will benefit the PNA’s Capital Campaign.
Also, the Greenwood Senior Center, 525 N. 85th St., is having its Second Hand Sale the day before the Greenwood Garage Sale Day, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, May 20.

A highlight this year will be craft materials including fabric, threads, yarn, paints, soap making supplies, raffia and much, much more. Kitchenware, music, small furniture, games, books, knick-knacks and much more make the Greenwood Senior Center’s Second Hand Sale the “grandmother of them all.”
