826 Seattle releases first hardback book of student-written poems, stories and essays

by | Nov 19, 2010

826 Seattle, a non-profit writing and tutoring center inside the Greenwood Space Travel Supply Co. at 8414 Greenwood Ave. N., is releasing its first hardback book of essays, poems and stories written by summer workshop students, called “Adventures in Reading.” And they’re having a party to celebrate.

In between the covers of 826 Seattle’s very first hardback book, you will find sweet suffering orphans, animals imposing their views on others, characters on journeys (both of the literal and figurative variety), as well as delectable poems inspired by favorite family recipes.
Join 826 Seattle on Saturday, November 20, between 10:30am and 12:30pm as we celebrate writing that literally shows rather than tells what this group of students did during their summer break.
Meet our Emcee, Luke Burbank, co-host of the KIRO mid-morning show, Ross and Burbank, and host of the Too Beautiful to Live podcast!
Enjoy readings by participating youth authors!
Raise a glass and toast the hard work of these future literary superstars!
Purchase a copy and get it signed by the authors!
To RSVP, please contact Leslye at [email protected] or 206-725-2625.
