April Pools Day teaches kids water safety

by | Apr 9, 2009

Seattle Parks and Rec is celebrating April Pools Day on Saturday, April 18, at local pools to help children and families prepare for a safe summer in the water.
The free events offer water safety tips and activities for people of all ages. Learn the right way to wear and use lifejackets, learn about hypothermia, take a boat ride, practice reaching and throwing rescues, and learn about CPR. Participants can enter a drawing for a free Mustang lifejacket, as well as other prizes.
The two closest participating pools to our neighborhood are Ballard Pool at 1471 NW 67th St., and Evans Pool at 7201 E. Green Lake Dr. Ballard’s April Pools Day activities are 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Evans Pool’s activities are scheduled for 1:30 – 2:30 p.m.
