The PNA is thrilled to announce the PhinneyWood Summer Arts Festival, a vibrant celebration of local art and creativity. This year’s event, taking place on Sunday, June 23rd and promises an array of engaging activities, exhibitions, and most notably, a series of enriching workshops designed to inspire and educate participants of all ages. Booking early is recommended as spaces are limited, unless it is a drop-in workshop.

Here are a few workshops to highlight:

Ceramics with Coco Spadoni: Join ceramic artist and teacher Coco Spadoni for two exciting workshops – “Make a Mug Slab Style” and the “Modern Bud Vase Workshop.” Based in Seattle, Coco is known for their vibrant use of bold, bright colors and modern designs. With patterns and abstract characters, Coco’s work explores the holistic human experience, embracing our messiness and playful energy. Having taught hundreds of people the basics of clay, Coco is passionate about making art accessible to all.

Painting with Brooke Lee: Dive into creativity with Brooke Lee’s two painting workshops – “Abstract Painting” and “Flower Painting.”

Dance Classes by the American Dance Institute: Enjoy a full day of dance classes for all ages, from Creative Dance for children as young as 3.5 years old to Hip-hop for 8-10-year-olds, and KPOP for teens.

Screen & Block Printing with Piano Nobile: Visit the newest tenant at the PNA, Piano Nobile, for a glimpse into the process of screen printing on their custom-built 6-yard-long textile printing press. Participate in demonstrations and workshops to learn more about this fascinating art form.

Improv and Theatre with Taproot Theatre: Engage in fun and interactive Improv and Theatre workshops designed for various age groups.

And many more exciting workshops await you! These workshops offer a unique opportunity for community members to engage with art in a hands-on and meaningful way. Whether you’re an experienced artist or a complete beginner, there’s something for everyone.
