It’s going to be a stunning weekend here in Greenwood and Phinney Ridge, so get out and enjoy it.

Phinneywood Art Up and Chow Down Art Walk is tonight (Friday) from 6-9 p.m. (although some venues stay open later) at dozens of art galleries and other venues throughout the neighborhood. Check out the Artwalk website for a complete list of all artists and a map.

It’s opening weekend for “Sweet Land, the Musical” at Taproot Theatre, 204 N. 85th St.

Woodland Park Zoo is closing early today (Friday) to set up for its big annual “Jungle Party” fundraiser.

Seafair is officially underway and the popular Milk Carton Derby happens at Green Lake on Saturday. Come cheer on homemade floating “boats” from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the southwest side of the lake, near the Aqua Theater. Plus there’s vendors with free giveaways and food for purchase.

2nd Saturday Cinema is showing the first “Toy Story” at 12 p.m. Saturday at Naked City Brewery, 8564 Greenwood Ave. N. Family-friendly and free; food and drinks available for purchase. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. for classic cartoons.

Nearby, the Ballard Seafood Festival takes place both Saturday and Sunday with live music, a skateboard competition, arts and crafts and food vendors, and kids activities. Keep in mind that Metro routes 40 and 44 will be rerouted during the festival. Check Metro’s Service Advisories page for info.

As long as you’re in Ballard, check out the Nordic Museum’s 35th annual Viking Days at the new museum at 2655 NW Market St.

Lots of events happening this weekend that will impact traffic:

    • Washington State Department of Transportation is closing all lanes of northbound I-5 at the West Seattle Bridge off-ramp from 8 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday to replace expansion joints and repave the roadway. Plan alternate routes and pack your patience.
    • Cascade Bicycle Club’s Seattle to Portland bike ride begins in the wee hours of Saturday morning at the University of Washington. You’ll see about 10,000 bikes on the road between here and Oregon, so please be careful.
    • Wallingford Family Parade runs from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday on North 45th Street between Bagley and Interlake avenues.
  • Seattle Storms plays the Dallas Wings at 6 p.m. Saturday at Key Arena.
