Artwalk, concerts, Neighbor Day, PNA Village Happy Hour and spirituality discussion group in Greenwood-Phinney this weekend

Here’s what’s happening in and around our neighborhood this weekend. Check our Events calendar any time for more.
Friday night is the monthly Art Up & Chow Down Artwalk at dozens of venues throughout the neighborhood. Check out the Artwalk website for a complete list of participating venues and artists. Artwalk officially runs from 6-9 p.m., but some sites stay open later.
Couth Buzzard Books, 8310 Greenwood Ave. N., presents Val D’Alessio, Michael Ashe & Geli Wuerzner in concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday; and Kesselgarden Klezmer in concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Woodland Park Zoo’s animals get special Valentine’s Day treats like heart-shaped ice pops made of fruit juice, honey and strawberry, herbal bouquets, or heart-shaped steaks this Saturday. Included with admission.
Seattle’s Neighbor Day is Saturday, where everyone is invited to commit random acts of kindness. Most fire stations are hosting open houses for the community from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., including Fire Station 21 at Greenwood Avenue North and North 73rd St. Stop by for a tour and meet the Defenders of Greenwood.
PNA Village Volunteer Recruitment Happy Hour from 3-5 p.m. Saturday at the Phinney Center, 6532 Phinney Ave. N. Free. Learn how you can help our neighborhood’s seniors age in their own homes by volunteering for transportation, small projects in and around the home, and social interaction.
Seattle Folklore Society presents Dan Weber and Michael Henchman at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Phinney Center, 6532 Phinney Ave. N., in Community Hall in the Brick Building.
Progressive Spirituality Discussion Group from 4-5 p.m. Sunday at Flying Bike Cooperative Brewery, 8570 Greenwood Ave. N.
Traffic-wise this weekend:

  • The Northwest Flower and Garden Show is at the Washington State Convention Center through Sunday.
  • The Seattle RV Show is at CenturyLink Field Event Center through Sunday.
  • Sunday is the celebration of Lunar New Year and the Year of the Dog in the Chinatown-International District from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Featuring a traditional lion dance, martial arts demonstrations, and cultural dances. Some streets will be closed off and parking will be tricky.
