Take a break from buying and wrapping presents and check out events in Greenwood and Phinney Ridge this weekend. Here are some highlights; check our Events calendar for more.
Couth Buzzard Books, 8310 Greenwood Ave. N., presents “Bloodlust” with Professor Fred’s Schlock Movies at 7 p.m. Friday; Little Sara and the Night Owls at 7:30 p.m. Saturday; and Open Jazz Jam with Kenny Mandell (all levels welcome) from 2-4:15 p.m. Sunday.
Taproot Theatre, 204 N. 85th St., continues its holiday productions of “A Civil War Christmas: An American Musical Celebration” on the Jewell Mainstage through Dec. 30 and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” in the Isaac Studio through Dec. 27.
Because Christmas and New Year’s Day are both on a Monday, Seattle Public Utilities is delaying garbage, yard waste and recycling by one day for the next two weeks. If your pickup day is normally scheduled for Monday, it all will be picked up on Tuesday, Tuesday scheduled pickups will be done on Wednesday, Wednesday pickups on Thursday, etc. Put your waste out by 7 a.m. as usual.
