The usual suspects are closed on Thanksgiving, such as schools, banks and libraries.
Most Seattle Parks and Recreation facilities will be closed both Thursday and Friday, including community centers, teen life centers, environmental learning centers, indoor swimming pools, Green Lake Small Craft Center and Mount Baker Rowing and Sailing Center. However, boat ramps will remain open, golf courses close early on Thursday (around 2 p.m.), and the Amy Yee Tennis Center will close at 3 p.m. on Thursday.
Metro Transit will run its Sunday schedule on Thursday, and its Reduced Weekday and UW Reduced Service schedule on Friday.
Seattle Public Utilities will not pick up solid waste (garbage, yard waste or recycling) on Thursday, and the South Transfer station will be closed Thursday. Collections scheduled for Thursday will occur on Friday, and Friday collections will happen on Saturday. If you deep fried your turkey, you can set out up to two gallons of used oil on your normal collection day for free pick up. Put the oil in one-gallon plastic containers labeled with your name and address.
