Folks have several upcoming opportunities to find out more about candidates and issues on the November ballot.
Next Monday, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m. at Taproot Theatre, 204 N. 85th St., Greenwood Community Council is hosting a forum with candidates from City Council Districts 5 and 6. District 5 generally covers Greenwood north of 85th Street, while District 6 generally covers the area south of 85th Street.

- 7 p.m. – District 5 Candidates – Sandy Brown and Debora Juarez
- 7:40 p.m. – Break
- 7:45 p.m. – District 6 Candidates – Catherine Weatbrook and Mike O’Brien
- 8:30 p.m. – Adjourn
Friends of the Seattle Public Library is hosting a District 6 candidates forum and debate at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15 at the Greenwood Library, 8016 Greenwood Ave. N.
Then from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20, also at the Greenwood Library, the Greenwood Community Council hosts a “Speed Candidating” event.
There are many races and ballot measure this fall — too many to fit into a debate format, so instead we will provide an opportunity for candidates who can fit it into their schedule to come make their pitch and answer your questions. All candidates and ballot representatives will be invited. This will replace our regular October community council meeting this month.
