Viewlands Elementary School’s fundraising campaign for a renovated playground is having a pancake fundraiser from 4-10 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the IHOP at Oaktree Plaza, 10002 Aurora Ave. N. Print out the flier below (or print it from the school’s website) and show it to your server and 20 percent of your bill will be donated to the playground campaign.
Organizers for the project at 10525 3rd Ave. NW are trying to raise $25,000 in matching funds by Nov. 4. As of Tuesday night, the campaign had raised $21,000. The project received a $75,000 King County Youth Sports Facilities Grant and a $100,000 Neighborhood Matching Fund Large Project Fund Grant from the Department of Neighborhoods.
