Two ways our neighborhood is helping with earthquake relief in Nepal

There are two ways that our neighborhood is helping out with relief in Nepal after the devastating earthquake and landslides.
Thaiku restaurant, 6705 Greenwood Ave. N., is donating 100 percent of its gross sales from 12-5 p.m. this Sunday to Nepal through the Red Cross. The restaurant also will sell locally-made letterpress cards, calendars and artwork by Ilee Papergoods, with all of the proceeds donated as well.
And Greenwood neighbor Sue is collecting needed items to ship overseas.

A local, Sherpa-owned company, Sherpa Adventure Gear (SAG), is sending a palate of humanitarian aid this week and I’m reaching out to local neighbors to see if you have a tent that is collecting dust in your garage, an extra tarp that maybe you bought for a project you didn’t finish, or a water purification set you got for a backpacking trip that has been lying dormant? I am a Greenwood neighbor, and am collecting items for this shipment. SAG regularly ships goods to and from Nepal, and the CEO, Tashi, and his family were actually over there when the quake struck (they are fine…) and they are going to insure that the shipment makes it to the most needy villages. Please consider this request! Obviously time is of the essence to get supplies over there, so I will only be collecting items over this weekend.
