Seattle Folklore Society presents Ellis Paul with Rebecca Loebe at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Phinney Neighborhood Association, 6532 Phinney Ave. N., in the Brick Building. Tickets in advance are $20 general, $17 SFS/PNA members and seniors; kids half price (all tickets are $2 more at the door).
The Phinney Neighborhood Association’s annual Wine Taste is from 7:30-10 p.m. Saturday at 6532 Phinney Ave. N., in the Blue Building. Tickets are $25 for PNA members, $30 general, $10 designated driver. For that you get 10 tastes, appetizers and music.

If you’re heading downtown, some streets will be closed around Aurora Avenue and Queen Anne for the Hot Chocolate 15K & 5K Run. Some buses, including the 5, will be rerouted. See Metro’s Service Advisories page for information.
A reminder that Metro Transit bus fares are going up by 25 cents on Sunday, March 1 (50 cents for Access paratransit). But there’s also a new reduced-fare program, called ORCA LIFT, for riders earning at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level, about $23,340 annually for an individual. ORCA LIFT fares will be $1.50 per trip regardless of time of day or number of zones traveled.
Viewlands Elementary, 10525 3rd Ave. NW, is hosting its final public meeting about its playground improvement project from 6:30-8 p.m. on Monday, March 2.
