Update, June: The Phinney Cycle Show has been postponed until next year while they figure out logistics.
Earlier: The annual Greenwood Car Show brings thousands of people to the neighborhood to see classic and new cars lined up along Phinney and Greenwood avenues for a mile-and-a-half. This year, a group of folks is planning to add the Phinney Cycle Show – Two Wheel Festival to the south end of that strip to celebrate bicycles and motorcycles on Saturday, June 27.
The Cycle Show, from North 55th to 65th streets, will have demonstrations, courses, food vendors, beer gardens, and representatives from local motorcycle clubs, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Cycle Show organizers are looking for more help on the Planning Committee. And they’re hosting a creative contest to create both the event’s logo and event promotion banner poster. The logo should include the name “Phinney Cycle Show”, elements of Phinney Ridge, motorcycles and bicycles (especially vintage themes). The poster will be 18-by-24-inches and should include the date of the event, name, logo and creative art promoting the event. The winning submission will receive $200. Deadline is March 14.
