Saturday was a gorgeous day for Summer Streets

We had a great time at Saturday’s annual Summer Streets, sponsored by Seattle Department of Transportation, which shut down Greenwood Avenue to cars from North 65th to 87th streets. People were free to walk or ride their bikes in the street, while businesses and community groups offered children’s activities, sidewalk sales, and dance and aerial performances.

The annual Street Soccer Tournament was held in front of Naked City Brewery just south of 87th Street, while the new Youth Soccer Field was set up at 72nd.

Firefighters from Station 21 let a long line of eager kids hold the fire hose (and “accidentally” spray nearby parents taking pictures!)

And musicians played a variety of music throughout the mile-long festival, including this quintet in a driveway near 70th.

And Ayron Jones and The Way, which headlined the School of Rock stage at 87th.
