Phinney Farmers Market kicks off the season today (Friday) from 3-7 p.m. in the upper parking lot of the Phinney Neighborhood Association, 6532 Phinney Ave. N.
The second annual Phinneywood Rainbow Hop is Saturday at nearly two-dozen neighborhood businesses.
Participating businesses and non-profits will be hosting family friendly events and handing out goodies that focus on diversity, tolerance and fun. Participant should look for businesses marked with rainbow pinwheels and pick up a map of participating venues. The event is not a parade and participants can start at any location. The Greenwood Library will be kicking off the festivities with a story time from 10 am to 11 am. All other events will be held between 11 am and 1 pm. The event is sponsored by the PNA Business Membership, A-1 Piano, Greenwood Hardware, Illuminations Learning Studio, and Phinney Estate Law. Events will include face painting, art projects, and more. Come join the fun and show your support!

Jazz First Fridays with New Ronin 4 at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Couth Buzzard Books, 8310 Greenwood Ave. N. On Sunday it’s Kenny Mandell’s Music Improv Session with Randy Doak and Lamar Lofton from 7- 9 p.m.
Acoustic Sundays Open Mic at 8 p.m. Sunday at Tim’s Tavern, 602 N. 105th St.
Friends of Woodland Park Zoo Elephants is holding a silent meditation at Woodland Park Zoo on Saturday, to commemorate the anniversary of the death of Hansa. The group will hold two short meditations from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The first will be at the plaza inside the West Entrance across from the ticket counter; the second will be on the steps of the elephant exhibit.
