December’s exhibition is final one for Francine Seders Gallery in Phinney Ridge

by | Nov 15, 2013

Francine Seders Gallery’s final exhibition will be Dec. 4-24 and features artists Dale Lindman, Norman Lundin, Dina Barzel, Michael Howard and Diann Knezovich. The gallery at 6701 Greenwood Ave. N. is closing for good on Christmas Eve.

Seders has been in the art business for nearly 50 years, and she tells us she plans to continue working from home but with fewer artists. She said it’s not exactly retirement, but she’s looking forward to having more free time. The Seattle Times had a nice article about Seders’ impact on the arts community in August.

A reception for the artists is from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8. The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Seders put the building up for sale last summer and today she told us it’s been sold to a developer who plans to rent it out for a while. Seattle’s Department of Planning and Development shows a permit application for a land use review to develop the site into a four-story apartment building with ground level commercial space.
