Phinney Community Chorus Haiti Concert June 12

by | Jun 6, 2011

The Phinney Community Chorus will perform its annual Haiti fundraising concert at 7 p.m. Sunday at Phinney Lutheran Church, 7500 Greenwood Ave. N. This is the chorus’s eighth annual concert of behalf of Lekol Pa Nou (“Our School.”)

Last year we raised over $11,000 for the school — almost enough to pay the salaries of four full-time teachers. We work with Education for Prosperity, a small non-profit group with volunteers dedicated to seeing that 100% of the donations get to the school. The concert is our year-end recital and, hopefully, an opportunity for our singing to make a difference.

Organizers say everyone is invited to the concert, even if you aren’t able to donate.
The chorus put together a short video as a sort of commercial to show how Chorus Director Maggie McClellan whips them into singing shape.
