The Greenwood Senior Center at 525 N. 85th St. is once again selling home-made pies through the holiday season.
Order your holiday pies and support the senior center at the same time. Each week there will be a different selection and flavors including peach, berry, assorted cream pies, apple cider and of course holiday favorites – pumpkin and pecan! Nothing says holiday like a delicious home baked pie. Beginning in October, you can order your pies to be picked up each week. This year, some of the fruit was from the City Fruit 2010 harvest. Truly a local endeavor!
The Senior Center also has a Pie Making 101 Workshop from 6-8 p.m. this Friday. Instructor Janice Bellotti-Pace will teach participants some techniques to consistently turn out great pies. Pre-register by calling 206-297-0875. $10 for Phinney Neighborhood Association members, $15 general public.
