by | Feb 10, 2009

The proposed development to replace the building on the southeast corner of 61st and Phinney has a hearing date of Feb. 23, at Ballard High School’s library at 6:30 p.m.

The proposal is for a 4-story building containing 2,755 sq. ft. of commercial at ground level with 19 residential units above. Parking for 23 vehicles to be provided below grade within the structure. Project includes 4,815 cu. yds. of grading. Existing structure to be demolished.

Neighbors concerned about the scale and look of the proposed four-story retail and residential building collected more than 500 signatures to require a public hearing. The building to be demolished houses the recently opened Roosters Cafe, Chef Liao, Daily Planet Antiques and Phinney Ridge Cleaners.
