James culled this incident from his neighborhood watch e-mail and sent it to us. It happened Wednesday evening:
Yesterday I took the #5 bus on Greenwood home from work. In the 500 block of 78th I was approached from the front by a 20ish black man and his partner was moving behind me. He ask for a dollar bill for four quarters, when he grab my purse, I let him have the purse and they jump into a dark green SUV with California license. Other than a few bruises, kicking myself of not being more aware of my surroundings and several hours on the phone canceling credit cards everything is fine. I have reported this to the police.
