A developer is proposing to build 301 apartments on the long-empty lot where Leilani Lanes used to stand.

The developer is proposing to build two, five-story structures with 301 apartment units, 7,505 square feet of ground-level retail and 38,987 square feet of underground mini-storage at 10201 Greenwood Ave. N. The proposed plans also show underground parking for 601 vehicles.

Leilani Lanes opened in 1961. It closed in 2006 and was torn down in 2007.

A public hearing on the proposal is set for 6:30-8 p.m., Sept. 22 in the Ballard High School library. More details here.
