Crews finishing paving of Greenwood Avenue North between North 92nd and 105th streets this week

May 4th, 2016 by Doree

This week road crews are finishing final paving on the east and west side of Greenwood Avenue North between North 92nd Street and North 105th Street. Crews will also spend this week and next painting pavement markings, installing signs and other clean-up activities along that corridor. Crews will return in June for any final clean-up, landscaping, and other finish work, such as installing railings.

Work hours are from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pedestrians may be detoured around work zones, and on-street parking and side street access could be restricted during work hours.

The affected side streets are the east side of N 103rd St, both sides of N 92nd St, and both sides of N 97th St. These side streets will be closed at the intersection with Greenwood Ave N for a few hours each. Only one street will be closed at a time.

Final paving work involves removing old pavement and pouring new pavement, which requires partial closure of driveways and walkways for a few hours. Crews will preserve driveway access by working on one half of a driveway at a time and/or placing a steel plate for drivers to pass over.

Holman Road paving project begins Monday

April 11th, 2014 by Doree

Seattle Department of Transportation will repave 1.3 miles of Holman Road NW from Greenwood Avenue North to Northwest 87th Street, beginning Monday.

Road crews also will construct a pedestrian median at the intersection of Holman and 13th Avenue NW, a new median at 7th Avenue NW, enlarge a current median at Holman and 15th Avenue NW, and repair sidewalk spots and build curb ramps. Transit riders will get new bus shelters with better lighting.

To reduce impacts to the surrounding community, this project has been divided into two phases. The first phase of work will be done in Zone 1 on Holman Road Northwest between 7th Avenue Northwest and Greenwood Avenue North and is expected to be complete in June. Once Zone 1 is complete, crews will begin work on Zone 2, on Holman Road Northwest between Northwest 87th Street and 7th Avenue Northwest, which is expected to be complete by September.

Drivers can expect some lane closures and parking restrictions within the construction zone. Regular construction hours will be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the exception of bridge expansion joint replacement work of Holman Road Bridge in Zone 2, which will require a full closure of Holman Road Northwest at 8th Avenue Northwest in both directions while work is conducted during weekend nights.
