The Phinney Neighborhood Association successfully hosted its vibrant Holi Celebration on March 30th at the Phinney Center. This annual event, inspired by the Hindu spring festival known for its exuberant display of colors, laughter, and community spirit, attracted hundreds of attendees eager to partake in the traditions and festivities marking the beginning of spring.

The Holi Celebration, also known as the Festival of Colors, signifies the victory of good over evil, the end of winter, and the joy of the coming spring. It’s a time for renewing friendships, settling old conflicts, and spreading happiness and love.

Event Highlights:

  • Colorful Beginnings: Participants of all ages engaged in the playful throwing of cornstarch-based, safe natural colors, creating a mesmerizing spectacle of hues in the air and on each other.
  • Culinary Delights: The Spice Walla restaurant offered its delicious Kathi Rolls, while Jaipur Avenue provided refreshing chai.
  • Musical Rhythms: DJ KP kept the energy high with a fantastic mix of Bollywood, Bhangra, and EDM tunes, while Afsaana Dance showcased their unique Bollywood-inspired performances.
  • Creative and Cultural Activities: Children and families enjoyed arts and crafts with Hindi Time Kids and explored Indian-inspired clothing from My Desi Fusion.

The PNA extends its heartfelt gratitude to all the volunteers, sponsors, and participants who made this year’s Holi Celebration a memorable and joyous event. Plans are already underway for next year’s festival, promising even more color, joy, and community spirit.
