Talk #1
Speaker: Hailey Akins
Title: Hydrogen Power – Futuristic or Foolish?
Description: Most people hear hydrogen and think ‘Hindenburg’ but could it actually be a source of renewable clean energy? In this talk, we will be discussing the potential upsides and risks of hydrogen based fuel and how it might fit into the future energy landscape.
Talk #2
Speaker: Kayla Markuson
Title: You are what you eat – but what is that exactly?
Description: Read nutrition labels like never before! Learn about what goes into chemically testing for ingredients such as sugar and caffeine.
Talk #3
Speaker: Kyle Johnson
Title: Battery-free Autonomous Microrobots
Description: Battery-free microrobots have the potential to transform clean energy fields by enabling micro-scale maintenance of infrastructure like solar panels and wind turbines. By eliminating the need for traditional batteries, these devices can reduce maintenance costs and environmental waste while boosting efficiency and reliability!
Talk #4
Speaker: Henry Mangalapalli
Title: Cholesterol – A call to Action
Description: My research goals are to understand two phenomena: why some patients are more likely to have high cholesterol, and why despite having normal cholesterol some patients are more prone to arterial blockages which cause heart attacks. I will discuss how cholesterol causes heart attacks and how I aim to address this problem in my research.
