Seattle’s Only Hockey Bar!

The Angry Beaver opened it’s doors in September 2012 as the first and only Canadian-themed hockey bar in Seattle. Locals might remember this tavern as “The Pig & Whistle”, “The Central” or “Yo Babes” and the bar has been in continuous existence since 1937. We were blown up and robbed during the Greenwood gas explosion, and finally reopened our doors on July 29th, 2016. We polished and deep cleaned every part of our place and added a pool table (the we can’t wait to open back up). Now we’ve got a pandemic to power through, and we aren’t goin’ no where. We’re a very proud bunch at The Angry Beaver and invite you all to come by!

Serving the Puget Sound hockey community, we are Seattle’s only bar dedicated to the sport and during hockey season, that’s what we do. All hockey, all the time! This includes World Cup hockey, World Jr. hockey and Olympic hockey! Owner Tim Pipes, born in Winnipeg and raised in Toronto has deep roots in the sport and after moving back to Seattle in 2003, saw the NHL as a greatly under served sport! Our walls are covered in jerseys and old NHL photos, beavers and Mounties and we believe we’ve created the right atmosphere for our hockey fans.
