Live music, tigers and playtime in the neighborhood this weekend

Live music in the neighborhood this weekend, plus some play time for the little ones and a fundraising campaign at Woodland Park Zoo. Here are a few highlights; check out our Events calendar any time for more.
Hejira in concert with bellydancer Elisa Gamel, 7:30 p.m. Friday at Couth Buzzard Books Espresso Buono Café, 8310 Greenwood Ave. N. On Saturday, Couth Buzzard presents Celtic music by Frank Blair and Stewart Hendrickson. Both are free, with a pass of the hat. Food and adult beverages available.
The family vacation comedy “Leaving Iowa” continues at Taproot Theatre, 204 N. 85th St.
The PlaySpace at Emmanuel is open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday at 510 N. 49th St. (Use KapKa school entrance.) All ages welcome.
Folk singer Namoli Brennet performs at 8 p.m. Saturday at Empty Sea Studios, 6300 Phinney Ave. N. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door.
Tim’s Tavern at 602 N. 105th St. has an open mic and jam session with harmonica legend Eric Fridrich starting at 8 p.m. Sunday.
Today is the last day to contribute to Woodland Park Zoo’s “Ten for Tigers” fundraising campaign. The zoo is raising money for its new two-acre tiger and sloth bear exhibit, which will replace the current 60-year-old structure.
And Seattle Public Utilities is reminding everyone that garbage and recycling pickup is on a normal schedule on Monday, even though it’s Memorial Day. So be sure to put out your garbage, yard waste and recycling bins by 7 a.m. The North Recycling & Disposal Station also will be open regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at 1350 N. 34th St.
