AlaskaUSA Federal Credit Union moving into old BECU spot at Greenwood Safeway

by | Mar 6, 2012

AlaskaUSA Federal Credit Union is closing its Roosevelt branch and moving it to the Greenwood Safeway at the end of this month.

The former BECU space at the Greenwood Safeway is under construction.
“The move out of (Roosevelt) Safeway and into another Safeway store was to get a location on the west side of I-5, which has always been a challenge for us,” AlaskaUSA Spokesman Dan McCue said. “This provides us that ability to service people on the west side easier.”
He said the move should be seamless for customers. The Roosevelt branch will close on Sunday, March 25, and the Greenwood Safeway branch will open on Monday, March 26. All of the Roosevelt staff will be moving to the Greenwood branch.
McCue said Safeway will be using the Roosevelt branch space for more groceries, but an AlaskaUSA ATM will remain.
The Greenwood branch will be open seven days a week. The hours will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. It will have several teller stations, a self-service counter, and an ATM. The ATM is surcharge-free for AlaskaUSA members, as well as members of the Northwest Credit Union Alliance.
