Last week we told you that Antique Lighting Company at 8214 Greenwood Ave. N. had closed, but a new lighting store would open in the same space on Oct. 1. We spoke with one of the owners of Luxe Lighting, who gave us more information.
Marva Lougee tells us that she and Kristine Kyle and Charles (Chuck) Tucker, were all employees at ALC. When ALC’s owner decided to retire, the three employees, who have a combined 40 years of experience in the lighting business, decided to continue the business, but with a new name and different focus.
Luxe Lighting Co. LLC will still offer restoration and rewiring of antique lights, but the store will focus on a more contemporary and traditional lighting look.
When the owner decided to retire her business, we felt we still had work to do. We love the neighborhood, the lighting business and thought YES we can do this. Luxe will specialize in one on one consultation, to guide people through the what ifs, do’s and don’ts and overwhelming choices. Our belief is that lighting is one of the most important factors in a comfortable, welcoming space.”
