National Night Out is Tuesday, with hundreds of Seattle’s streets blocked off to traffic for neighborhood parties

by | Jul 31, 2017

National Night Out is Tuesday, Aug. 1, with thousands of Seattle residents closing off their streets to traffic to encourage neighbors to play in the street and get to know each other better to help fight crime.

Many neighbors have a barbecue, while some hire a band or the Bubbleman or some other kind of entertainment.

While the evening is meant to be fun, it also means many side streets will be blocked off to cars, making coming home from work a challenge for some. Drivers, please be nice to those at block parties, and realize they’re not trying to make your trip home harder. And block party folks should help out drivers who get hemmed in by too many streets blocked off.

Enjoy Night Out!
