It seems to be a fairly quiet weekend in the neighborhood. Here are some highlights from our Events calendar.

Phinney Neighborhood Preschool Co-op is hosting an open house for its Dragon Room programs (3’s and Pre-K classes) from 2:30-4:30 p.m. on Saturday at the PNA, 6532 Phinney Ave. N., in the Brick Building.

Open Jazz Jam with Kenny Mandell (all levels welcome) from 2-4:30 p.m. Sunday at Couth Buzzard Books, 8310 Greenwood Ave. N.

Silenced Films with DJ Nicfit at 8 p.m. Sunday at Naked City Brewery & Taphouse, 8564 Greenwood Ave. N.

If you’re heading downtown:

  • The Seahawks play the Detroit Lions at 5:15 p.m. Saturday at CenturyLink Field.
  • Washington State Department of Transportation will close the northbound lanes of State Route 99 near the stadiums, between South Spokane Street and South Royal Brougham Way, on Friday and Saturday nights to repair damaged pavement. The closures are scheduled from 8 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday, then again from 10:30 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday.

Looking ahead to next week, Seattle School Boardmember Rick Burke is hosting a Middle School Assignment Plan Community Meeting from 6:30-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Greenwood Elementary School, 144 NW 80th St., in the lunchroom.
