Northwest Chamber Chorus presents Christmas concerts at Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church

Northwest Chamber Chorus presents its “Season of Peace” Christmas concerts on Dec. 4 and 10 at Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church, 7500 Greenwood Ave. N. Concerts are at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4, and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10.

Tickets are available online or by calling 206-523-1196: $24 general, $20 senior citizens and singers of established groups; students ages 6-18 are admitted free.

This Christmas concert with Mark Kloepper and the Northwest Chamber Chorus focuses on the peace and beauty of the holiday season.

Included in the program are O Magnum Mysterium by Morten Lauridsen, Magnificat by Arvo Pärt, Ave Maris Stella by Trond Kverno, Lux Nova by Eric Whitacre, Kyrie Eleison by Larry Nickel and Deep Peace by Andrew Carter, Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming arranged by Jan Sandström, There is No Rose of Such Virtue by Kevin Memley, and A Spotless Rose by Herbert Howells. Traditional carols include Away in a Manger arranged by Ola Gjeilo, What Child is This? arranged by Grant Cochran, Lullay My Liking by Gustav Holst, Sweet Was the Songby René Clausen, and Jul, Jul (Wonderful Peace) by Gustaf Nordqvist. African American Christmas spirituals Mary Had a Baby by William Dawson and Glory, Glory, Glory to the Newborn King by Moses Hogan and a traditional carol sing-along complete this festive program.
