National Drug Take Back Day nets 1,209 pounds of expired, unwanted prescription drugs

Last Saturday’s National Drug Take Back Day at Seattle Police’s five precincts brought in a total of 1,209 pounds of expired and unwanted prescriptions drugs. The highest amount by precinct was ours – the North Precinct collected 466 pounds.

The South Precinct collected 139 pounds, East Precinct had 182 pounds, West Precinct had 102 pounds, and the Southwest Precinct collected 320 pounds.

According to Seattle Police Department, this was the most ever collected in Seattle by several hundred pounds.

Drug Take Back Day will happen again in the spring.
