Cat-only boarding hotel Whiskers Lodge to open near PhinneyWood

by | Feb 10, 2026

Whiskers Lodge is a new, cat-only boarding lodge opening this spring at 4250 Aurora Avenue North, designed entirely around feline comfort and low-stress care. The space is purpose-built to be calm and dog-free, with handcrafted private suites built on our family farm in Woodinville and individualized attention for every guest.

Whiskers Lodge is founded by Kip and John and is built on more than 17 years of hands-on, family-rooted experience caring for cats through a well-established cat boarding business in Woodinville. While Whiskers Lodge is a separate business, it continues the same commitment to thoughtful care, clear communication, and putting cats first.

The lodge will open with 14 private suites and will soon after include an indoor cat playground used by boarding guests, as well as available to rent by the community for supervised play and enrichment. As far as we know, it is one of the first modern, lodge-style cat-only boarding spaces in Seattle, and the first to offer a dedicated indoor cat playground.

Whiskers Lodge is currently finishing construction and accepting pre-bookings for stays beginning April 6, with the goal of opening earlier in March if timelines allow. The business is working through King County animal boarding licensing and grounding its operations in long-standing experience, clear health and safety standards, and guidance from a small care advisory board that includes early members from local animal welfare organizations.

Community members can join their Purrks List for updates, or pre-book upcoming stays at their website. Behind-the-scenes updates are up on Instagram at @thewhiskerslodge.
