Local businesses are the heart of our community, and the Phinney Neighborhood Association (PNA) takes pride in supporting their success. Today, we’re thrilled to spotlight Red Mill Burgers, a beloved staple in Phinney Ridge and Interbay, known for serving up award-winning burgers and investing in the neighborhood for 30 years!
Red Mill Burgers has a rich history, starting with its original location in Capitol Hill, opened in 1937 as a diner and ice creamery. Though that location closed in 1967, the brand was revived in 1994 with its iconic Phinney Ridge location, followed by a second spot in Interbay in 1998. In its first year, Red Mill earned an honorable mention for “Best Burger” in Seattle Weekly’s Best of Seattle issue, going on to win the title for 10 consecutive years.
But Red Mill’s impact goes beyond its delicious burgers. The company has been a longtime partner of the PNA, sponsoring and supporting countless community events, including the annual PhinneyWood Winter Festival and other neighborhood celebrations. This year, Red Mill kickstarted our end-of-year campaign with a generous $5,000 donation to support the Greenwood Senior Center and the GSC Memory Loss program, helping us move closer to our $100,000 goal.
As we celebrate 30 years of Red Mill Burgers, we thank them for their unwavering commitment to our community and their ongoing support of local events and initiatives.
