Día de los Muertos/Day of the Dead celebration tomorrow at the Phinney Center

Join us at the Phinney Center this Saturday, November 2nd  from 1-4PM for PhinneyWood’s annual Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration, honoring the deceased with food, drink, and festivities. Come together to celebrate loved ones with crafts, music, dance and food! The event is free to enter and all are welcome. Watch for the procession along Phinney and Greenwood Aves between 67th and 70th happening at the end of the event, around 3:45PM.

Event Activities:

  • Tacos & Beer food truck (no alcohol for sale)
  • Hot chocolate ($2) and pan de muerto ($5) from Pasteria y Panaderia La Ideal
  • Free crafts – paper flowers, beaded bracelets, decorating frames, temporary tattoos
  • Traditional performances
  • Community ofrenda – bring your photos and offerings
  • Closing procession through the neighborhood

Performance Schedule:

  • 1:15 pm: Music with Jump on Languages
  • 1:15 pm: Welcome and altar dedication with poet Raul Sanchez
  • 1:45 pm: Baile Folklore Colibri
  • 2:30 pm: Groupo Folklorico
  • 3:15 pm: CeAtl Tonalli traditional ceremony and procession through the neighborhood
