Neighborhood group looking for volunteers to help bring traffic circle to 59th and Evanston

by | Apr 17, 2024

A group of neighbors and community members near the north side of Woodland Park are organizing efforts to create a safer route along the often-busy street:

Hey neighbors! Many of us use 59th Street to get around, and you’ve probably noticed the fast speeds drivers can reach on this stretch. This creates a dangerous situation for pedestrians, especially those visiting the Woodland Park Zoo or playground.

We can make 59th Street safer. A group of residents is applying for community matching funds to install a traffic circle at the corner of 59th and Evanston. This will help slow down traffic and make crossing the street safer for everyone. If you’d like to see a safer 59th Street, lend your voice! Email Maggie at [email protected] to learn more and join our effort to get this traffic circle project rolling. Together, we can make our neighborhood a calmer, more pedestrian-friendly place.
