Phinney Chorus to perform annual Remembrance Concert

by | Mar 14, 2024

The Phinney Chorus, founded in 1999 by Maggie McClellan as a no-audition troupe, is performing their annual Remembrance Concert Saturday, March 23 at the Woodland Park Presbyterian Church. The concert is non-denominational, with songs ranging from Pokare Ana – a Maori song from New Zealand – to the Beatles’ Blackbird. This is an event that you can expect to hear uplifting songs and poems aimed at providing a bit of comfort to those who’ve experienced loss.

The Phinney Chorus meets as a quarterly class Thursday evenings at the PNA, and Winter quarter ends with this Remembrance Concert performance, which was started in 2016. The chorus typically has anywhere from 60 to 90 members.
