by | Mar 27, 2024

Are you living with mobility restrictions due to a chronic illness or a disability, or have you contemplated Yoga but haven’t found a class that works for you? Come try one of the Adaptive Yoga classes now being offered by Adaptive Yoga Northwest (AYNW).

After a long pause during Covid, AYNW is resuming its in person adaptive classes on Wednesdays from 2:30-3:30pm at the Phinney Center (6532 Phinney Ave N). Taught in smaller group settings, these classes welcome individuals living with strokes, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy and other mobility limitations. Each class offers a variety of movements, gentle breathing, mindfulness practices and opportunities to build connections with oneself and others. Experienced instructors work with volunteers to help participants get into the poses and transfer to mats on the floor if they wish.

Space is limited. To register or get more information, contact [email protected] or call (206) 949-9692. AYNW also offers online classes. Please check their website for more information.
