Phinney Ridge Community Council to host Councilmember Strauss in March meeting

The Phinney Ridge Community Council and Green Lake Community Council will be co-hosting Councilmember Dan Strauss in an upcoming Zoom meeting on Tuesday March 5th at 7pm. Dan represents District 6, which includes Phinney Ridge and the northwest side of Green Lake.

Dan votes on proposed policies that affect all our neighborhoods city-wide, and is the Chair this year of Finance, Native Communities and Tribal Governments. He is Vice Chair of Land Use and a member of Parks, Public Utilities & Technology, Public Safety, and Transportation: 

Some upcoming policies in these committees are the 

  • Addressing City’s budget current shortfall of $250,000,000
  • Amending Seattle’s Tree Ordinance, which his Land Use Committee passed last year as to protect the increasing loss of trees
  • Public safety for residents and businesses
  • Administering affordable housing levies which have been passed by residents
  • City contributions to the King County Regional Homeless Authority
