Seattle’s Roosevelt Jazz Band is proud to present Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn’s “The Nutcracker Suite,” a swinging take on the Tchaikovsky ballet. This special Seattle holiday tradition is returning for its 24th year, and all proceeds support Roosevelt Jazz, a nationally acclaimed public high school jazz group that consists of four jazz bands and a jazz choir.
Roosevelt Jazz Band is a repeat finalist at Essentially Ellington jazz competition, has opened for the Count Basie Orchestra, and performed at Earshot Jazz Festival, which showcases top jazz youth in the greater Seattle area.
The Nutcracker Suite | Saturday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec 3 at 2 p.m.
