Mr. Gyros joins star-studded Bite of PhinneyWood event, announces return to the neighborhood

by | Aug 22, 2023

Mr. Gyros, a beloved and popular local spot on Greenwood Avenue which was destroyed in the 2016 PSE gas explosion, has joined the 2nd annual Bite of PhinneyWood event this September. Even more exciting is that they will be returning to the neighborhood and are in the midst of building out their new space at 8535 Phinney Ave N.

“We are beyond excited to finally say we’re returning to our favorite community, a place where our vision and dream began many years ago,” co-owner Sammy Arsheed shared recently (pictured above at the new location with his mother, Sue). Readers who remember their original tiny location will be delighted to hear there will be a more expansive interior, robust covered outdoor seating with heat lamps, and beautiful thematic Mediterranean décor.

Once they are able to get through the arduous task of permitting and building, there will be a soft opening where everyone in the community will be invited to attend – watch for that announcement here on the Blog. “We want everyone to know how special and important they are and have been to us, and we couldn’t think of a better way to get back into the community.”

Want to get the first bite of Mr. Gyros’ food before they open? Come see Sammy and the family at the Bite along with 19 other restaurants, the Orcas Project, and much more. Tickets are going fast, but are still available here.
