Balinese Dance Workshop offered Fridays at the PNA

by | Jan 30, 2023

Looking for a unique and invigorating dance class to get you through the Winter doldrums? How about an introduction to the basics of Balinese dance, which uses intricate gestures closely tied to the shimmering sounds of gamelan music. In the spirit of community, all ages and levels are welcome and no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Instructor Susan Lamberth is an inveterate dancer of many forms, but finds Balinese dance to be the most deeply satisfying. She has studied and performed Balinese dance since 2006 in Bali and as a member of Gamelan Sekar Jaya in Berkeley California. She has a PhD in Anthropology with a research focus on Balinese dance.
