This Saturday, come out for a casual self-guided stroll or bike ride visiting many of the most eye-catching gardens in Southwest Ballard. Learn expert tips from a Master Gardener, speak to the home gardeners themselves about how they bring their beautiful creations to life, find inspiration for your own garden, take in some live music, and enjoy the sun on our first 80-degree day of the year.
Sustainable Ballard’s 13th Annual Edible Garden Tour is this Saturday, June 25, 10 am -3 pm. The cost is a $15 donation, which supports Sustainable Ballard’s community projects.
Spend a day walking or biking through Ballard to discover how neighbors raise urban fruits and vegetables. Gardeners will be on hand to answer your questions. If you’re new to gardening, this is a great way to see what other gardeners are doing and get some tips!
The tour includes multiple gardens to explore within walking distance of each other in Southwest Ballard.
The Master Gardeners of Thyme Patch Park will be on hand for a pop-up clinic. Have a plant that’s having a hard time? Want help finding the perfect plant for that finicky part of your yard? Always wondered what that plant in the corner of your yard is? Bring your questions for their expert answers.
As anyone who’s recently tried to find vegetable seeds or plant starts can attest, there has been a renewed interest in edible gardening these past couple of years as people spend more time at home and try to make do with fewer grocery trips. Sustainable Ballard hopes that its annual Edible Garden Tour will inspire and inform all the budding gardeners out there!
