Two new programs offer pandemic assistance for child care costs and rent relief

Do you need help with child care costs?

You may qualify for financial assistance to pay for child care if you live or work in King County, fall within income guidelines and your income, work schedule, or access to child care has been negatively impacted by COVID-19 or you are an essential worker

Program eligibility
  • Must be under 400% FPL 
  • Must live or work in King County
  • Must be an essential worker or have been impacted by COVID-19
  • For children aged 0-12 at licensed child care sites

Second, the King County Eviction Prevention and Rent Assistance Program has created a new $41 million program to assist households economically impacted by the coronavirus.

Our region faces a looming eviction crisis of unprecedented scale. Tens of thousands of King County residents are at increased risk of eviction because of the ongoing pandemic and its effects which include illness, loss of income and unemployment.

King County is responding by rapidly deploying a new rent assistance and eviction prevention program in partnership with community organizations to help those who have been unable to meet rent obligations and are at risk for eviction.

King County is accepting interest forms from tenantssmall landlordslarge property landlords and managersmanufactured home park owners and managers, and local nonprofits who wish to participate in a new Eviction Prevention and Rent Assistance Program.
