PhinneyWood Round-Up – August 14th – City Cycle, Free Electronics Recycling Event and Woodland Park Zoo

by | Aug 14, 2020

It’s hard for us all to keep up with everything going on these days. PhinneyWood is here to help you stay up to date on some of the latest happenings around the neighborhood.

In-person classes are back underway at City Cycle. Classes are currently capped at 4 people and you must reserve your bike in advance. The schedule for the week goes live every Sunday at 12pm here, so be sure to sign up early. Not ready to go to the studio yet? Live classes and on-demand classes are still available. For more information visit CityCycleSeattle.com.

Have some old or unused electronics that you are looking to get rid of? Windermere Greenwood is having an electronics recycling event this weekend with Living Green Technology. The event will take place tomorrow, August 15th, from 10:30am until 1pm. For more details on what they will be accepting, take a look at their Facebook page. There will also be a paper shredding partner at the event.

The Woodland Park Zoo will be hosting a virtual event on Thursday, August 27th entitled Slipping Through the Cracks: Racism and the Struggle for Equity in the Field of Conservation. Join members and co-conspirators of the BIPOC community as they share their experiences working in and around the field of conservation and explore the environmental consequences that stem from a lack of representation. This free event will be held from 6pm-7pm via ZOOM. You can register here.

Have some news that you need to share with the community, feel free to reach out so we can spread the word! There is an easy online submission form here.
