Woodland Park Zoo cancels summer ZooTunes concert series for 2020

by | Apr 6, 2020

Given the circumstances of the times, Woodland Park Zoo has made the decision to cancel the summer ZooTunes concert series for 2020.

ZooTunes has been a Seattle staple for 37 years. While the zoo is sad to cancel this year, they are optimistic that the “collective efforts of our community is helping to flatten the curve and that we’ll be able to rock and roar together in 2021.

To those who have already purchased tickets for Blondie – thank you for supporting the zoo! We’re sorry we won’t be holding this concert in August and will be in touch by e-mail soon with next steps.

We’re so grateful to you for making ZooTunes part of your summer tradition. With all of the concerts and competition in Seattle, you’ve chosen to come back to us each year for music on the meadow because you care about your zoo and its wonderful animals.

This year, more than ever, Woodland Park Zoo needs your support. Since closing our doors in March, the zoo has lost millions of dollars in critical funds. We’ve been heartened by the generosity of our community, who have rallied around their zoo to help us continue our vital animal care work.

If you are able to make a financial contribution of any size, please visit www.zoo.org/relief or consider joining or renewing your zoo membership.

We’ll miss you this summer at ZooTunes but look forward to seeing you and celebrating together next summer! Thank you for your continued support of the animals and employees of Woodland Park Zoo.”
