The Ballard High School music program is pulling out all the stops with their free Winter Concert Series, Dec. 17, 18, and 19—and each night’s finale features selections from Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, performed by a full symphonic orchestra and choir.
Enjoy three nights of performances by the award-winning BHS Choir, Band, and Orchestra programs, and for the finale, nearly 200 students from Advanced Chorale, Chamber Orchestra, Symphonic Orchestra and select winds and percussion from Wind Ensemble will combine on stage for Carmina Burana. All evening performances begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Earl Kelly Center for Performing Arts at Ballard High School, 1418 NW 65th Street, Seattle.
Free seating is general admission (doors usually open shortly after 7 p.m.), but assigned seating can be reserved for a donation to the music program. Purchase tickets online at https://showtix4u.com; Look at upcoming events and search for “Ballard Choir Winter Concert”, etc.
In addition to the three nightly concerts, a dress rehearsal is open to the public on Monday, Dec. 16, 3:45 to 5:30 p.m. Senior centers or other groups who want to attend this daytime performance should contact Courtney Rowley at [email protected] to let her know you’re coming.
