The Seattle Public Library has drop-in Homework Help during the school year at the Greenwood Library, 8016 Greenwood Ave. N., and the Broadview Library, 12755 Greenwood Ave. N.
K-12 students can get help with their homework in English, math, social studies and science. Homework Help is free and no registration is required.
Students also can use the Ask Us reference service to find information and have any questions answered. The service is available 24 hours a day. Students also can access online resources from the Library’s Student Research webpage.
SPL’s Seattle Writes fall program is back with 35 writing workshops at various branches through Nov. 27. Aspiring writers can learn how to start a novel, write a memoir, and set the scene.
All workshops are free and open to anyone; no registration required, but seating may be limited and is on a first-come first-seated basis. Attendees are asked to bring a pen, pencil and paper or fully charged laptop to each class.
In our neighborhood, author Peter Mountford will be at the Greenwood Library from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, to demonstrate techniques for setting scenes in both fiction and nonfiction.
